privacy policy

Amira is a personal AI assistant that helps you organize your money, health, calendar, email, to-dos, and notes in one place. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be readable. Where the law needs specific language, we kept it, but we tried not to hide anything behind legalese.

Amira is operated by [legal entity name, to be finalized], a Wyoming limited liability company ("Amira," "we," "us," "our"). If you have questions, email privacy@myamira.com.

1. Who can use Amira

Amira is for people 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you are under 16, please do not use Amira or send us your information. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 16, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has given us their information, email privacy@myamira.com and we will remove it.

2. The short version

  • We collect the information you give us and the information Amira needs to work for you.
  • We use it to run the assistant and its features. Nothing else.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
  • We do not use your connected Google data (Gmail, Calendar) to train AI models, and we do not use it for ads. See section 6.
  • You can delete your account and your data at any time, from inside the app or by emailing us. See section 9.

3. Information we collect

When you join the waitlist or sign up, you give us:

  • Your name and email address.

When you use the app, you give us data across the pillars you choose to use:

  • Money / finances: spending, budgets, expenses, and financial notes you enter or import.
  • Health / wellness: food, workouts, sleep, water, and other wellness details you log.
  • Calendar: events and scheduling details.
  • Email: message content and metadata, if you connect an email account.
  • To-dos and notes: tasks, lists, notes, and anything else you save.
  • Relationships / contacts: people and context you choose to track.

You decide which pillars to use. If you do not use a pillar, we do not collect that data.

When you connect a third-party account (Google or Apple):

  • We access data from that service only as needed to provide the feature you turned on, and only through the permissions ("scopes") you grant. See section 6.

Automatically, when you use Amira:

  • Basic usage and device information (for example, app version, device type, crash and diagnostic data) so the app works and stays reliable.
  • We keep this to the minimum needed to operate and improve Amira's own features. We do not build advertising profiles.

Payment information:

  • When you buy a founding membership or a subscription, payment is handled by our payment processor and the app stores (Apple / Google) and their processors. We do not store your full card number. We receive confirmation of your purchase and limited billing details needed to manage your account. See our Terms of Service for membership and billing terms.

4. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Run the assistant and the features you use.
  • Personalize Amira's help to you (your budgets, your schedule, your goals).
  • Process your founding membership or subscription and manage your account.
  • Send you service messages (receipts, security notices, important changes).
  • Send you product and marketing emails if you opt in, which you can stop at any time (see section 11).
  • Keep Amira secure, prevent abuse, debug, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your connected Google data to train AI models (see section 6).

5. How Amira uses AI

Amira uses AI models to understand your requests and help you. To do that, the relevant content of your request (which may include data from your pillars) is processed by our AI providers listed in section 7 to generate your response, in the moment, for you. We use these providers under terms that do not permit your data to be used to train their general models, and we configure them for no-retention or limited-retention processing where available. Your connected Google data is subject to the additional protections in section 6.

6. Google user data (Gmail and Calendar): Limited Use

If you connect a Google account, Amira's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We only use your Google data to provide and improve the features you turned on, and these features are visible to you in the Amira app.
  • We do not use your Google data to serve advertising, including personalized, retargeted, or interest-based ads.
  • We do not use your Google data to train, or transfer it to train, generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models. Your Gmail and Calendar data is used to help you, in the moment, and is not used to build models.
  • We do not allow humans to read your Google data, except: with your specific consent (for example, to help you troubleshoot), where necessary for security or to comply with the law, or in aggregated and anonymized form for internal operations, as permitted by Google's policy.
  • We request the narrowest permissions (scopes) needed for the feature you enabled, and you can disconnect your Google account at any time in settings, which stops further access.

You can review and revoke Amira's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

7. Who we share information with (subprocessors)

We share your information only with service providers who help us run Amira, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only for us. We do not sell it. Our current providers:

ProviderWhat it doesData involved

We keep this list current. We may add or change providers as Amira grows, and we will update this page when we do.

We may also disclose information if required by law (for example, a valid legal request), to protect the rights, safety, and security of Amira and our users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you and this policy will continue to apply.

8. How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide Amira to you. We keep only what we need, for as long as we need it, and then we delete or anonymize it. When you delete your account (section 9), we delete your personal data from our active systems and remove it from backups on our regular backup cycle. We may keep a limited amount of information where the law requires it (for example, tax and transaction records for our founding memberships).

9. Your choices and rights, and how to delete your data

You are in control of your data.

Delete your account and data, two ways:

  1. In the app: go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This starts deletion of your account and your pillar data from within the app. (Apple requires this in-app option, and we provide it.)
  2. By email: write to privacy@myamira.com and we will delete your account and data.

You can also:

  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is wrong.
  • Disconnect any connected account (Google or Apple) at any time in settings.
  • Opt out of marketing emails at any time (see section 11).

To make a request, email privacy@myamira.com. We will verify your request (usually by confirming control of your account email) and respond within the time the law requires. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

A note for California residents: we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front, but you still have the access, deletion, and correction rights above. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

10. How we protect your information

We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and other safeguards to protect your data, and we work with our providers to do the same. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your financial and health information as sensitive and handle it with care. If we ever experience a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as required by law.

11. Marketing emails and your postal-mail rights (CAN-SPAM)

If you opt in, we may send you product news and marketing emails. Every marketing email includes:

  • A clear way to unsubscribe with one click, honored promptly.
  • Our physical mailing address.

To stop marketing emails, click unsubscribe in any such email, or write to privacy@myamira.com. You will still receive essential service messages (like receipts and security notices) because those are part of running your account.

12. International users

Amira is operated from the United States, and your information is processed in the United States and by the providers listed in section 7. If you use Amira from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

13. Not financial or medical advice

Amira helps you organize and understand your money and your health. Amira is an organization tool, not a financial advisor and not a medical or healthcare provider. Nothing Amira shows you is financial, investment, tax, legal, or medical advice. For decisions that matter, talk to a qualified professional. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Amira grows or the law changes. If we make a material change, we will let you know (for example, by email or in the app) before it takes effect. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
