Need a hand with Amira?
A person reads every message. Write to us and say what happened, and we take it from there.
Write to us
For a bug, a question about a purchase, your data, something in a circle, or anything else. We usually answer within a working day.
What to include
- The email address on your account. If you signed in with Apple and hid your email, say so.
- Your app version. It is in Settings, under Help.
- Your iPhone model and iOS version.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- A screenshot, if it helps.
Never send a password, a card number or a code from a sign in email. We will never ask for one.
Delete your account
In the app, with no email and no waiting:
- Open Settings. It is the button at the right of the header on the Calendar tab, and on the Pillars tab.
- Tap Your data, then Delete my account.
- Type DELETE, tap Delete everything, and confirm once more.
Your thread, her memory of you, everything she planned and everything you logged are deleted straight away. A receipt of any purchase is kept for 30 days, as Spanish law requires, and then deleted. This cannot be undone.
If you bought something that renews, deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel it with Apple first, as described below.
If you cannot get into the app, write to hello@myamira.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We delete it and tell you when it is done.
Get a copy of your data
There is no download button in the app yet. Write to hello@myamira.com from the address on your account with the subject "Send me my data", and we send you everything we hold about you in a machine readable file, within one month and usually much sooner.
The same address works if you want something corrected, or want to know what we hold. The privacy policy says what we keep and why.
Purchases and refunds
Apple takes every payment for Amira. We never see your card details.
- The price, the billing period and any renewal are shown in the app at the moment you buy.
- To manage or cancel something that renews, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. Refunds are Apple's decision, and we cannot issue them ourselves.
- If you bought on this Apple Account before and the app does not know it, tap Restore a purchase on the purchase screen.
Circles, content and conduct
Circles are the one place in Amira where other people see what you write. A circle is a small private group, joined with a code from somebody already in it. There are no public profiles, no feed and no way to reach a stranger. Everything else in Amira, including your thread with her, is private to you.
What may not be posted is listed in the terms of use. In short: nothing hateful, harassing, sexual, violent, dangerous, illegal, spam, or anybody's private information.
Screening
Every post is checked against a word list on our own server the moment it is written, before anyone else can see it. A post that matches the most serious list is not published, and its author is told. A post that matches the lower list is held until a person at Amira decides. An edited post goes through the same check again.
Reporting a post
Hold a post and tap Report it, or open the post and tap Report this post. Choose what is wrong with it. The post is hidden from you straight away, and a person at Amira reviews every report within 24 hours. The author is not told who reported it.
Blocking a member
Hold their name under Who is in, or hold any of their posts, and tap Block them. You stop seeing everything of theirs, and they stop seeing everything of yours, straight away and on every device. They are not told.
What we do about it
A person reads the post and the report, then does one of these:
- removes the post for everyone
- puts back a post the screening held by mistake
- writes to the author with a warning
- removes the author from the circle
- closes the account, for serious or repeated breaks of the rules
Anything sexual involving a minor means the account is closed at once and reported to the authorities.
Appeals
If your post was removed or held, or you were removed from a circle, and you think we got it wrong, write to hello@myamira.com within 30 days. Say which circle and what happened. A person looks at it again and tells you the outcome.
If someone is in danger
Call your local emergency number first, which is 112 across Europe. Then tell us.
Quick fixes
- She is slow or stuck. Close the app fully and open it again. If it keeps happening, write to us.
- You cannot sign in. Use the same way you signed up: Apple, Google, or the email address that gets your code.
- Your calendar did not connect. Write to us with roughly when you tried, and we look at what Google said.
